We have multiple layers of redundancy – our servers have redundant components internally and we've doubled our insurance by having an exact duplicate of each server so if the primary server fails we can instantly and transparently switch over one of our backup servers.
Not only do we have redundant hardware and servers we also have two complete data centers capable of running the MerchantOS system individually.

MerchantOS provides customers a free dial-up backup service that so you can use your conventional phone line as a backup if your usual Internet connection goes down. An alternative backup strategy is to use a wireless data connection or smart-phone tethering mobile phone provider as redundant connection.
