Just a little over a month into 2013, time to start anew and usher in some site changes! In addition to changes addressed in the previous post, you may have noticed that we have rolled out a new layout for the blog. We want to keep you guys in the know with what is happening around here and feel this new look will make it easier to provide easy access to MerchantOS feature updates, news, and random office happenings.

The new blog layout is easy to read, with a standard, simplified approach to finding the content you are looking for. In addition, the layout continues to scale responsively for anyone wanting to check up via mobile or tablet-based platforms.

We hope you enjoy the change. If you have any feedback regarding the blog, please let us know in the comments.

If it isn’t already apparent from viewing our blog, you may have noticed it has received a fresh new look! The front page of the blog has been set to only display the most recent post. We have also decided to move the sidebar content to the bottom of the page to help give a primary focus to the post/posts. We hope these changes help make it easier to promote discussion of the most recent articles within the blog.

Promoted Discussion

As an example, when you see a new post, you’ll notice this “start a discussion” box located below the post”. If you click this box it’ll promptly take you to the posts comment section, allowing you to create a comment thread within the post.

Once at least one comment has been made, the latest comment will be displayed on the post loop to show that “Hey, there people are talking in here, you should join in!”

Archives Page

In addition to some tidying up, we also have a new archives page in place. This page organizes and neatly displays each and every post within the MerchantOS blog.

We are constantly striving to simplify and improve the way we communicate and hope you enjoy these changes. If you have any questions/comments about the new look, feel free to leave a comment below.

Hello everyone, my name is James, one of the in-house designers at MerchantOS.  I recently put together various gift card artwork to provide more options for our point of sale system users.

The designs range in many styles from bike shops, holiday, electronic stores, to random sport and pet related designs. We are hoping to get some input/feedback in order to focus on what kind of card designs you guys would prefer. Some of the designs feature generic shapes/artwork, while others are more targeted to fit with certain retail departments.

While these are not final proofs, if you could comment with your top 5 design choices, listing them using the numbers indicated in the gallery slide, it’ll make it easier to steer us in the right direction in determining where we go with this.

If you have ideas as to what kind of gift cards you’d like to see in the future, please feel free to express that in the comments. Together we can add some spice to the current pool of MerchantOS gift card designs!
