Santa Cruz, California, A.K.A. “The Real Surf City, USA”, is where Justin Laing originates from, which explains a lot. Well, it at least explains his religious devotion to surfing. When he’s not in the office he can often be found in the frigid waters off the Washington coast.

As Software Architect, Justin writes the code that makes the whole (MerchantOS) World run. He’s actually involved in many aspects of the company, sort of like our personal Morpheus - but a LOT less serious all the time.

Justin describes what he’s doing right now as his dream job, and the only thing he would change is that he’d surf everyday - that’s his “retirement” plan.

While coding on his Mac, Justin often listens to The Chemical Brothers, Royksopp, Foster The People, Mike Snow, MGMT, and Ratatat.
